OUARZAZATE – DRAA VALLEY – DUNES OF M’HAMID – 3 DAYS
A short trip designed for those travelers wishing to immerse themselves into the charm and magic of Sahara cultures, through oases, fortresses of red earth and golden sand dunes. A few kilometers rom the southern border with Algeria, on the ancient caravan trade route leading to Timbuktu, the village of M'hamid is the final destination of this three-day journey across southern Morocco's pre-saharan and Saharan regions. We’ll reach a traditional bivouac in the heart of the first dunes of the desert passing through the lush palm grove of the Draa Valley, in the foothills of the Atlas mountains. During the trip, we’ll explore traditional villages, ancient souks and beautiful fortified kasbahs hidden in luxuriant oasis, emblems of the old wars between berber and nomadic tribes. The tour includes traditional music evenings, night in a traditional bivouac and food tasting sessions.
